Jake Visser is in his third year with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and is serving as the primary equipment manager for the U.S. National Under-18 Team this season.
Last season, Visser was on the staff of the U.S. National Under-17 Team that claimed titles at the 2011 Four Nations Tournament in Balishikha, Russia and 2012 Vlad Dzurilla Under-18 Tournament in Piestany, Slovakia. He also served behind the bench as Team USA took second place at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Windsor, Ont.
Additionally, Visser served as the primary equipment manager for the 2011 Under-17 Select Five Nations Tournament held in Ann Arbor, Mich.
During the 2010-11 season, Visser was on the staff of the U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team that claimed the gold medal at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation U18 Men’s World Championship in Crimmitschau and Dresden, Germany. During the 2010-11 season, he also enjoyed first-place finishes at both the 2010 Under-18 Four Nations Cup in Nyland and Sundsvall, Sweden, and 2011 Five Nations Tournament in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic.
Visser previously served as the assistant equipment manager for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League for three years (2007-10). During that span, Visser also assisted at the Detroit Red Wings training camp in Traverse City, Mich.
Visser graduated from Grand Rapids Community College in 2008, with an associate’s degree in art.
