Jake Visser is in his fourth year with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and is serving as the primary equipment manager for the U.S. National Under-17 Team this season.
In 2012-13, Visser served on the staff of the U.S. National Under-18 Team that claimed first place at the 2012 Four Nations Tournament in Ann Arbor, Mich., and earned a silver medal at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s Under-18 World Championship in Sochi, Russia.
Visser had previously served on the gold-medal winning squad in Crimmitschau, Germany at the 2011 IIHF Men’s Under-18 World Championship.
Visser’s experience with the NTDP also included titles at the 2011 Four Nations Tournament and 2012 Vlad Dzurilla Under-18 Tournament while with the U.S. National Under-17 Team. He also served behind the bench as Team USA took second place at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Additionally, Visser served as the primary equipment manager for the Under-17 Select Team at the Five Nations Tournament in 2011 and 2013.
Prior to his time with the NTDP, Visser worked as the assistant equipment manager for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League for three years (2007-10). During that span, Visser also assisted at the Detroit Red Wings training camp in Traverse City, Mich.
Visser graduated from Grand Rapids Community College in 2008 with an associate’s degree in art.
